Send Seed Paper Cards to Your Clients

Wal-Mart, the retailer giant is promoting eco-friendly materials by sending seed paper cards to its customers. If you are one of those people who have never heard of seed paper, here is an explanation. It is a type of environmentally sustainable handmade paper embedded with live seeds. Different kinds of plant seeds are used to prepare this special type of paper. Unlike the paper that we use today, seed paper is not made from wood or pulp of a virgin tree, it’s made from 100% recycled content. With the distribution of seed paper cards, Wal-Mart is sure to attract more customers. Read on to know more.

How Wal-Mart is promoting environmental sustainability

Recently Derek Wong of SustainableBusinessForum.com received a seed paper card from the retailer. He says that sending out cards made of environmentally sustainable materials is going to bring some customer goodwill to the company. This is one of the major steps towards growth for Wal-Mart as it is making attempts at cleaning up its image for the past few years what with all the employee lashing all over the internet.

How you can grow the seed paper

The card has some instructions in the back about how you can use it. Seed paper is generally bumpy on its surface as seeds are used in it. If you want to grow it, you have to tear the card up into little pieces. Bury those pieces in soil and water them just like you would any other seeds. Once you do this, you will notice that the seeds germinate and grow into plants. The plants can be herbs, vegetable plants or flower plants based on the seed that are used in the preparation of the paper.

You can use them too

You can now embrace the ‘don’t cut trees for paper’ policy with this eco-friendly wonder. You don’t even have to worry about the quality of the soil once you bury the paper in it. It starts to compost in the soil. Derek feels if we replace our regular papers with seed papers, we can make earth a better place. He says this because environmentally friendly seed papers give him a sense of “progress, development, nurture” and a future to look ahead for.
