Eco-friendly Fashion in the United States

fashionEco friendly promotional items are finding their way fast into the fashion industry. Designers are starting to feel the need to be green and the new advances in technology are making it easier for them. They can now use recycled and refined synthetic fabric to create their new garments. H&M, a Swedish fashion house, is already into designing eco-friendly garments, and has launched an eco-friendly fashion collection named the Conscious Exclusive.

Endorsement of Eco-Fashion by Popular Figures

Not only are the designers becoming environment-conscious, but also the celebrities are ready to help in promoting eco-fashion. Many of them are regularly seen to be using eco friendly promotional items. Actress Natalie Portman is one among them. Amanda Seyfried has also worn an item from the Conscious Exclusive collection by H&M to a premiere in London, and so has Michelle Williams to the BAFTA awards.

Many consumers buy clothes which look good, rather than the ones that are made of eco-friendly materials. As such, the duty of protecting the environment lies upon the garment manufacturers and the designers. Designer Stella McCartney has discarded leather and fur from her high-end designs. The fashion institutes are also looking to raise awareness about using eco-friendly dress materials in the designs of their students, especially since technology has advanced. Appreciation of eco-fashion by popular people also encourages consumers to go green. Everything in support of eco-fashion has made the fashion industry worth $5 billion.

Eco Friendly Promotional Items Encouraged By Fashion Houses and Brands

With the technological advancements that the eco-fashion industry has undergone, most of the esteemed fashion houses stock eco-friendly garments now. Even vegan shoes are featured alongside the esteemed and traditional ones. Not only the garments themselves, but also the method of manufacturing them is being stressed upon by these fashion houses. They want the clothes to be completely sustainable.

According to the sustainability expert at H&M, the company’s alliance with designer Stella McCartney was an eye-opener towards eco-friendly garments and their associated manufacturing processes. H&M has also introduced a garment collection program across 1500 retail stores it owns. This is where people can deposit used clothes so that these can be recycled or given to charity.

Aside from H&M’s efforts to raise consciousness, the high-end shoe manufacturer Timberland has also invested a large amount in the eco-friendly Earthkeepers collection, in which all raw materials are either recycled or organic. If the brands keep making such stylish eco-friendly apparels, they will be able to attract more consumers to buy such clothes.
