In order to promote eco-friendly habits among the residents, the officials from Target decided to distribute free custom printed reusable bags on Earth Day. According to reports, the company distributed close to 1.5 million reusable bags in various stores across the US. In addition to this, the company gave their customers free coupons on Earth Day as well.
An eco-friendly initiative by Target
According to the officials from Target, all industrial and commercial companies should try and make efforts to promote eco-friendly products among their customers. The officials feel that organizations have a responsibility of reducing their carbon footprint, and to spread awareness on environmental issues as well. This is why the company decided to distribute free reusable bags on Earth Day.
Out of 1.5 million bags that were distributed among the Target customers, close to 250,000 contained samples of eco-friendly products. These samples were included in the reusable bags in order to promote eco-friendly lifestyles among the customers. Sustainable product samples such as Burt’s Bees moisturizing cream, dish soap, laundry detergent, and Annie’s Bunny Grahams were given out along with the reusable bags.
According to the Target team, the samples were not originally included in the reusable bag distribution. However, they felt that including samples in the bags will encourage customers to use eco-friendly products. The company offers a variety of eco-friendly products at its stores, and the Target team felt that giving away a few samples will increase customer awareness in this segment.

According to officials from Target, reusable bags are a necessity for most of the US citizens. This is because many American states, cities, and counties have implemented plastic bag bans in their premises. So the residents have to use reusable bags, even if they prefer plastic bags.
