Trash To Treasure

In The Bag is in the business of helping communities start up plastic bag bans one town at a time through art.  ITB strives to educate and motivate people to recycle the plastic they have to use, and to use alternative sources where possible.   In The Bag does this through lively exhibits hosted throughout the world.  In The Bag has helped communities in the Philippines, Cambodia, India, Central America and the United States, ban the use of plastic bags.

The art exhibits contain eye catching objects that are made of plastic, and then artists transform the object to create something else, thereby using an object that would otherwise be thrown into a landfill as trash and recycling it into something quite unique and functional.  In The Bag features 7 artists and 6 designers that make colorful and exciting objects out of ……trash.

In The Bag promotes the use of custom reusable shopping bags one person at a time, one city at a time, one state at a time.  In the Bag will help motivate the most stubborn of us get motivated to use reusable shopping bags rather than single use plastic bags.  According to In The Bag, “The world uses over 1.2 trillion plastic bags a year.  That averages about 300 bags for each adult on the planet.  That comes out to over one million bags being used per minute.  On average we use each plastic bag for approximately 12 minutes before disposing.  It then lasts in the environment for decades.”
