July 4th Leftovers to Transform Your Party Food

When you host family and friends for July 4th, it can be hard to know what to do with all that extra food. You can’t cook everything like you did the first time. That’s a given. However, you can use some of this food to make your kitchen a more exciting place to be for the few days after the holiday.

A Different Kind of July 4th Burger

When you want to use the leftover burgers from a big barbecue, it can be hard to know what to do. You don’t want to turn them into some other kind of food because that doesn’t make the burger all that exciting. However, you can use a sandwich press to get the results you want.

Cheese, onions, maybe some sautéed mushrooms, and mayo work well when you build a sandwich (preferably rye bread) and cook the sandwich in a sandwich press. You can let it cook naturally until it is time to bring the sandwich together. If you press it all at once, everything will come out the sides and not end up in the sandwich.

Leftover Pasta Salad

Leftover pasta salad is a great way to utilize that veggie tray you left out at the party. It helps to chop the broccoli or cauliflower, split the tomatoes, split the carrots, and slice the celery. Mix all this with some cooked and chilled pasta, season with oregano, salt and pepper, and pour your favorite Italian dressing over the whole affair.

You can easily eat this for lunch as it will be much lighter than the meal you had for dinner the day before.
