Passion for Gardening Makes Seeded Card Business Prosper

Seed paperConsumers have the opportunity to plant anniversary, birthday, sympathy or holiday cards. You can buy plant-able favors, tags, coasters, postcards, doorknob signs and craft paper and produce plant-able events such as fundraisers and bridal showers.

A green initiative promoter and long-time entrepreneur, Quercioli owned old cell phones, a laser cartridges and a recycling inkjet business. She created handouts and fliers to promote her business, using the seed paper she had made to attract attention. The seeded holiday cards were sent to clients, receiving positive feedback. This convinced her to create Sprouts.

Quercioli’s accolades

The concept she uses for the business is the result of her love and passion for all nonprofits and environmental things, and for gardening. Quercioli won the Northern Palm Beach Chamber’s Small Business of the Year award in 2009 for her contributions to community outreach and her business. The 2010 Go Blue Awards also saw her finish as a finalist for Loggerhead Marinelife Center. In the following year, she received Women of the Year award by the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber.

How seed paper can be used to promote businesses

When asked about how she managed to make profits while helping out with charity, she says she had had a successful run with regards to building profitable companies over the past quarter of the century.

Quercioli says that the key is to build from your heart, and not the brain’s rational processes. She gives us an example of how she implemented the approach on the business front. When she introduced Wish Sprouters – one of her products at a luncheon with colleagues, each participant was asked to write an encouraging word to describe their neighbor.

The papers were then exchanged and taken home to be planted with an eye on their flowers growth. She says that seed paper is something fantastic that you can use to promote your business – just as she did!

On the charity, fundraising side, at an educational presentation in a school, for example, she gives plant-able hearts to children. All the kids write a dream or wish on the Sprouter. She says that this approach is heart-centered and sums up by saying that businesses must be loved enough with people.

Quercioli says that social engagements and business are sustained because of her partnership with a charity from the area that stores their paper. Workforce mainly comprises of interns, who make her business operations sustainable. High schools students take part in for a study/work program.
