The city council in Union County has made some revisions to its existing recycling program in order to make recycling simpler for the residents. The council has taken the decision to expand the number of recycling carts in the region, and they are hoping that the additional carts will impact the recycling rates within the county.
The revised recycling system at Union County
According to the Operations Manager at the City Garbage Service, Darn Larvik, the county is going to increase the number of recycling carts in the region. He stated that with the help of these recycling carts, the residents will be able to dispose a lot of their waste at a time, and so the recycling process will become faster and simpler for the residents. Larvik stated that after these changes take place, the residents will be more pro-active in the recycling initiatives of the county, as they won’t have to spend a lot of time segregating their waste. They will also have to dispose their waste only twice a month, so they will be encouraged to take part in the recycling activities.
Along with the above-mentioned changes, the recycling system will also promote cheap custom printed bags among the residents. The authorities want the residents to replace plastic containers and bags with reusable bags, and so they are making an effort to encourage reusable bags among the residents as well.

According to experts, the previous recycling system of the county had a lot of limitations. In the previous recycling system, the recycling services accepted very few plastic containers for recycling; however, now the City Garbage Services has announced that it will accept different kinds of plastic containers from the residents. The officials from the Services stated that plastic containers with larger necks and smaller bases are becoming very popular in the market, and so they have decided to include them in their recycling list as well. At present, more and more companies are willing to purchase recyclable plastic from the center, so they have taken the decision to expand the plastic containers in their recycling list.
Previously, the City Garbage Service used to pay close to $59 to dispose a ton of waste in the landfills; however, after the revision, the center will have to pay lesser to dispose their waste. So, this system will not only benefit the residents, but will also benefit the recycling services within the county.
