For instance, the company involved in building eco friendly apartments at Blackhawk campus is Homeway. They do not build the traditional brick and mortar structures. They construct modular units off-site. These units will then be transported on trailers to the campus. They will be offloaded and reassembled with the help of cranes. Eventually, the new facility at the campus will be known as the villas. Each block will be 12 to 15 feet. Sinks, showers, doors, windows, and counters have already been installed. This type of built-in housing has many advantages. It saves time and is cost effective. It is easy to assemble, convenient, and most importantly, these apartments are eco-friendly.

According to the area manager of these villas, Danielle Boulton, there are several more advantages with building of this type of housing. These buildings made in pods against the conventional stick buildings that we see prove to be a lot more energy efficient according to Homeway. Also, the way they are fabricated and rearranged makes them quite sound-proof as compared to conventional structures. The project is being carried out at an estimated cost of approximately $6 million. It is expected that the project will be completed in time or about a week before the classes are scheduled to begin. The fully furnished apartments will have a club house and a fitness center in the campus.
